Special Edition Post: NABBA West 2015
Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? It’s been weeks, no, actually months since my last post and I am only just now finding the time to write about hubby’s progress and his day on stage at NABBA West this year!
So to sum it up I think the best thing to do is to first show a quick slideshow of the weeks Craig spent on prep, because after all, a picture is worth a thousand words;
From what I can remember about this year so far; (and to be honest my brain is so mushed up I can barely remember what went on yesterday, let alone how this year has been going!) Well, I do remember that this time around I found being a prep wife hard… really hard. But the strange thing is that if you were to ask Craig how this prep had gone in comparison to his first one then I have no doubt that he’d say it went really well and was a synch compared to last time… go figure?!
But putting those memories, or lack of them aside, I’m still so unbelievably proud of how well he did. We were incredibly fortunate in that we were able to use a room backstage for Craig to pump up in and put the final touches to his tan. Not only this, we met Louise from Liquid Sunrayz UK who not only showed me the best way to apply Craig’s final coat but got stuck in and basically did it for me, and wow, it looked incredible!
Something I can remember as clear as day was seeing Craig first step out on stage, even now I can feel my throat going raspy just thinking about how much I was screaming… ‘TWENTY THREE!!!’ ‘WOOOOO HOOOOO!!’ ‘COME ON CRAIG!!’ And those pants… twit twoo, snake skin baby! 😉
Up on that stage he certainly didn’t look out of place and came top 5 out of 18 other guys. But not only that, he was also given an invite to the British Novice Finals!
I can remember it was a very long day as we were doing quite a bit of travelling which we’re not exactly used to, I think we stopped by Dominos on the drive back and I’m sure that there were nothing but crumbs left by the time we got back to the house, well, crumbs and a big satisfied grin upon a super dark tanned husband of mine!
The show was especially meaningful, not least because I got to see hubby strut his funky stuff again but also because we had a couple of friends competing and also our coach, Paul Scarbrough returned to the stage again and looked awesome. There’s nothing better than seeing your mentor thriving in the spotlight, and being able to see it first hand!
There are no plans for there to be any prepping in our house for well over a good year now, so I can breathe a sigh of relief! The plan now is for Craig to grow… and grow… and to keep growing!
Something pretty cute happened when I picked Oscar up from school this week. I was told that when Daddy picks him up that all the kids go wild as they’ve not seen a Daddy so big before and that all the boys want to grow up to be just like him!
Look out Portugal, there could be a bodybuilding revolution in the making…!
