How wrong I was
I would like to start by introducing myself. Who I was, am, hope to become and also to tell you my reasons for starting a blog.
I am 29 years old, married to a fantastic and encouraging husband, a mother of two beautiful kids, Oscar aged 3 and Ava-Mae aged 11 months and I work full time as an eLearning Technologist.
All my life I had made some attempt at keeping fit and healthy but had never been happy with my body. Whilst pregnant with Ava my husband and I were looking at a body-building website full of men and women in peak physical condition and I was in awe!
I always thought I knew what a female body-builder looked like.. but how wrong I was!
Whilst looking through the gallery photos there was one woman in particular who stood out to me, Olya Haidner. After reading that she was a mother of two children I realised that I had no excuses and that there was no reason that I wouldn’t be able to transform my body into the physique I had always dreamed of.
After seeing this I couldn’t wait for my due date to arrive so that I could begin my transformation!
I wanted to start this blog to encourage others to work for the body they have always wanted.
But most importantly, after hearing so many negative comments from people whenever I mention weight lifting, I wanted to help educate people that women who lift weights aren’t necessarily going to turn into the big scary looking monsters that you think they will.
